Letter to Employees

Your organization is facing a major crisis. As CEO, you are tasked to write a letter to your staff.

Dear Employees,

As you must be aware, these are testing times for our organization. We have not met the goals that we set out to achieve. The projects and contracts that we hoped to secure have slipped from our grasp. Our revenues are on the decline and we have been found wanting in several areas of operation. It is in times like this that we need to come together as a company and rise to the challenge. It is now, more than ever, that this company needs all of you to strive to give your best.

Many of you may have doubts about the future of this enterprise. You may wonder where we are headed and what will become of you. Some of you may have harbored thoughts of moving on while you still can. It is natural to experience such sentiments, especially when the situation seems quite bleak. However, I urge you to look upon this crisis as an opportunity to prove your worth to the company. It is a chance for each and every one of us to raise our performance to an unforeseen high and help the company pass this test with flying colors. We must work now with renewed determination and unrelenting vigor. Our positive attitude should inspire our colleagues to follow suit.

The Liverpool Football Club, one of my favorite clubs, has an anthem called "You’ll Never Walk Alone" which inspires the players to have a great team spirit and fight for each other. This must be our motto now. We must stand united and work as a team. We must help each other out at every possible opportunity. Together, we can achieve the impossible. The shadow of these difficult times will pass and things will slowly begin to turn around. Our beloved company will rise like a phoenix from the ashes to enjoy more success than ever before. It is then that we will look back and feel proud about how we fought and recovered from a difficult situation instead of abandoning ship. We will marvel at what incredible height we have reached. Success, my friends, is how high you bounce after you hit the bottom. I sincerely hope that all of you can share this vision of mine.

Yours Sincerely,

C.E.O.
